With the publication of the sixth assessment report by IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), it is clear that our planet is warming at an unprecedented rate. To avert this crisis, there has been an increased demand for urgent systemic change by various stakeholders across multiple industries, and SDGs are the guiding light for this systematic transformation.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been an integral part of Oxycom’s mission since its inception. With our highly innovative 'natural cooling systems', we are pioneers of innovative adiabatic climate solutions to reduce the global ecological footprint required for cooling, ventilating, and heating buildings.
Oxycom follows and contributes to all the 17 SDGs, but it mainly contributes to the 6 of the 17 SDGs that are significant for achieving a sustainable future for 3Ps; people, planet, and profit. This blog explores how Oxycom commits to these six SDGs. The six SDGs are acronymized as C-PARIS:
C- Climate Action (SDG 13)
P- Partnership for the goals (SDG 17)
A- Affordable and clean energy (SDG 7)
R- Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12)
I- Industry, innovation, and infrastructure (SDG 9)
S- Sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11)
C- Climate Action (SDG 13)
Against the backdrop of COP 26, 120 world leaders recognized the alarming impact of human activities has caused around 1.1 °C of warming to date, which is already being felt in every region. We need a new mindset and innovative climate solutions to prevent the climate crisis.
Oxycom’s products are designed for climate action in terms of reduction of CO2 emissions, an increase of the market share in renewable energy, and an increase of energy-efficient solutions. With its sustainable climate control system, Oxycom is transforming the HVAC industry.
P- Partnership for the goals (SDG 17)
Revitalizing the cooperation between various stakeholders is the essence of SDG 17, which is also known as Partnership for the Goals. SDG 17 is one of the crucial SDGs that is about providing support to developing countries, strengthening of collaboration, and global partnership with an aim of shared vision towards a sustainable future for all.
Oxycom believes in the power of collaboration, and we work closely with installers and partners who share our vision. From America to Australia, Oxycom has partners across all continents to fulfill our mission towards a zero-emission world.
A- Affordable and clean energy (SDG 7)
By 2100, climate scientists projected that conventional air conditioning will contribute as much as a 0.5-degree Celsius rise in global temperatures. According to the Project Drawdown, refrigerant management - one of the most effective climate solutions- can reduce 57.7 gigatons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. It is even more effective than tropical forest restoration and onshore wind turbines.
Ensuring access to affordable, clean, and sustainable energy is an overarching aim of SDG 7 and so is the mission of Oxycom. With its innovative, energy-efficient & sustainable climate control, Oxycom guarantees up to 90% energy savings compared to traditional air conditioning.
R- Responsible consumption and production (SDG 12)
Consumption and production fuel economic growth but it also results in degradation of the environment, deforestation, plastic pollution, extinction of species, and so on. With the projected population of 9.6 billion by 2050, it is estimated that if we keep using our natural resources in the similar way that we are using them now, we would need three planets to provide the natural resources to sustain human life.
For responsible consumption and sustainable management of natural resources, Oxycom developed the IntrCooll to comply with the disadvantages of existing direct evaporative technologies. The IntrCooll not only cools 4-7°C lower than direct evaporative technology but also saves up to 30 percent of their water consumption and provides 100% clean, fresh, and filtered air. In this way, Oxycom's innovative indoor climate solution creates a healthy working environment that increases productivity and efficiency.
I- Industry, innovation, and infrastructure (SDG 9)
An overarching aim of SDG 9 is to build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation. There is an urgent need for promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization to find prominent solutions for economic, social, and environmental challenges and hence creating a better future for all.
From promoting sustainable industrialization to upgrading all industries & infrastructure for sustainability, Oxycom actively contributes to all the targets of SDG 9. With reduced CO2 emissions and increased resource-use efficiency, our goal is to provide clean, innovative, sustainable climate control across all industries.
S- Sustainable cities and communities (SDG 11)
During the last couple of decades, our world has seen the greatest urban migration. Rapid urbanization has not only changed the dynamics of cities but also contributes majorly to the “Urban Heat Island (UHI) Effect” that results in high energy costs and consumption, especially for the purpose of air conditioning.
Oxycom’s mission aligns closely with the targets of SDG 11. Evaporative cooling releases process air at low temperatures, thus having a positive impact on the growing problem of “urban heating”. To transform the HVAC industry and to reduce air pollution and its morbid effects, Oxycom is committed to make cities safe, green, and resilient to support sustainable growth for all.
"In governments, businesses, and individuals, awareness about sustainability is here and growing, and that is the foundation for achieving the sustainable development goals.
